The Story

“Being nice and kind should be rewarded.” The story begins in the North Pole where Santa seeks to find the nicest of the nice and the kindest of the kind. That’s the “Kid of the Year”. Follow the enchanted and joyous adventure of Jen-bunny, as she begins her journey by having her favorite stuffed animal wake her up. They are then transported to the magical land of Santa where she becomes a princess, flies on a reindeer, and rides in a very small French race car named S’cargo. She meets the prince of the elves, gets rescued by giant army snowmen, and so much more. Each chapter is an adventure in itself leading up to the grandest adventure of them all, the great sleigh ride around the world on Christmas Eve. The joy of being kind is emphasized throughout the book, including a very clever anti-bullying message. Enjoy the journey!

About The Author

David Knoll is a storyteller who honed his skills at Camp Sequoia in the Catskills Mountains of New York. David has entertained thousands of children throughout the years with a variety of his original stories. When he finally put his words to paper to create “Santa’s Kid of the Year”, he used his beloved children, Jennifer and Joseph, as the two main characters. The third main character was the inspiration for this story. He was a close friend who has since passed. His nickname growing up was Kicky, and he was bullied and teased as a youngster. In this book David uses Santa and the Christmas season to inspire children to be nice and kind. He believes that teaching our youth the foundation of kindness, respect and strength leads to a better and happier world.

David lives in New York with his wife and son. His daughter, son- in- law, and grandchildren live a short distance away, for family sharing and caring is how they live. Christmas has always been a loving family holiday season, as David says, “It truly is the most wonderful time of the year.”

'Kid  of  the Year'

Hi this is Sylvester (The elf from chapter 1),

I’m the elf that discovered Jen-bunny from her nice list and then she became Santa’s ‘Kid of the Year’. Today I’m happy to let you know that I am head elf of the nice list division.

As we head towards Christmas our team of elves look over the names of children all over the world to see if they’re naughty or nice. The naughty are put on the coal list while the nice are put onto the nice list. Two weeks before Christmas time my team of elves look through the nice list to find the nicest and kindest 500 kids in the world, and then on Christmas Eve Santa will decide on who is the ‘Kid of the Year’ winner.

To be chosen as the ‘Kid of the Year’ you must be the kindest of the kind, the nicest of the nice and you must do at least two good deeds.

If you fill out the questions below, it can help you become 'Kid of The Year.' I will send you an email shortly to let you know that I received your information.

Continue to be kind and nice, and remember to always listen to your parents, your teachers and do good deeds.

Love,

Sylvester

Are you this year's 'Kid of the Year'?

Do you listen to your parents?
Do you do chores at home?
Do you do you listen to your teacher?
Do you do your homework?
Did you bully someone this year?

Rewiews
What the kids say...

Maria - Long Island, NY - 7 years old

My mouth opened wide when Jen-bunny saw her stuffed animal talking to her! I was saying to myself, “My toys wake me up and take me to my toy box.”

The little elves were right. Jen-bunny is beautiful and smart.

I would love to meet reindeer and would fly on one anytime.

I wish I can ride on Santa’s sleigh on Christmas. It sounds like so much fun! I would scream at the top of my lungs if I was up there!

I would love to be Kid of the Year!
